The Office (US TV series) The office (shortened to the office) is an American television sitcom which aired on NBC from March 24, 2005 to May 16, 2013. It is an adaptation of the BBC series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. The show depicts the daily lives of employed people in the Scranton branch of the fictitious Dunder Mifflin Paper Company in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Season 1 DVD-rip was released on DVD in the US on August 28, 2006. All episodes were aired in HD by NBC's HD service, and by Hulu Plus.
The complete first season of "The Office" was released on DVD in a six-disc box set with all 13 episodes from the series' first season on October 29, 2007. This release features the original British audio track with closed captioning and subtitles in English; whereas the Region 4 release has an Australian audio track with open captions and subtitles (simply dubbed into English). The British DVD was marketed as "the office - Uncut. Uncensored. Unhilarious." Many fans of the show were disappointed with office season 1 dvd the "Uncensored" version of the DVD which contains profanity not previously seen in the American broadcast. The Region 1 DVD also featured two deleted scenes and audio outtakes, along with multiple audio commentaries from cast and crew members.
